A Bit About Me

Projects
From my time at DigiPen Institute of Technology, I've worked on a wide variety of projects, and in several roles.
Below are just some of the roles and projects that I've worked on or may be currently working on.

Operation RNGSolo Game ProjectSummer 2022 - Spring 2023
This solo unity project was largely self-lead, with all of the art assets, programming, and design done by myself. This project was an exploration into the design, creation, and systems behind both FPS and Rogue-like games, in an effort to create a cohesive meld between the two genres. With a procedurally generated level system as well as a variety of weapons with unique effects, this project allowed me to create and explore unique systems to create an engaging experience. |
AdriftSolo UX ProjectSpring 2022
This unity project was created to attempt to emulate the experiences commonly associated with being adrift in space. With looping atmospheric music created by myself, as well as a consistent "endless" gameplay loop that revolves around dodging debris, the main focus is on the player's movement and making sure that the feedback given to the player appropriately enhances the experience. |
AbiogenesisVR Level DesignFall 2023
This group project used Unreal Engine 4 to create a VR horror game with puzzle elements. During my time on the team, I designed and implemented the layout, puzzles, and challenges present in the project. Working in VR came with a series of design challenges involving the puzzles and capabilities of the player during certain sequences. With the addition of wheelchair movement and an AI monster that would lurk around the level, creating engaging puzzles and maneuverable areas were interesting and fun design challenges to overcome. |
Piñata PanicUI/UX DesignerFall 2021 - Spring 2022
This large-scale cross-discipline team project of up to 10+ students used Unreal Engine 4 to create a fun physics-based destruction and platforming game. The concept revolved around collecting candy and causing as much havoc in a small town. I worked as the team's UI/UX designer, helping to design and implement different timers and gauges, as well as help direct the artists on the team as to what was needed for different UI assets. |
Investment Design (Misc.)Design ConceptingFall 2022
I've worked on several projects, including mock Game Design Documents, that pertain specifically to the "investment design" aspect of games. This includes designing and working with systems to keep player engagement, as well as learning the ethics and responsibilities of proper monetization systems. System Design that allows for strong player retention and engagement has quickly become a facet of player-focused design that I hope to include in all of my future projects. |
Musician MagicCurrent Project (W.I.P.)Summer 2023
This unity project is currently in early prototyping stages, and I hope to have more to show soon. Currently, the concept behind this project is an traditional turn-based RPG with magic systems that differ based on music you make within the game. This project has a large focus on player creativity, and being able to create and "play" music to create magic. The music written by the player has a direct effect on the potency of the magic cast, and each song is played instead of a traditional cast time. I hope to share more details as work on this project progresses! |
